For over thirty years the Vulcan Society offered training for candidates interested in becoming firefighters, and other public safety careers. We offered assistance in filling out the application, ongoing preparation workshops on the testing components and interviewing process. We also offered weight training information and recommendations on the strength test is provided.
Today, we offer guidance through the exam and hiring process and once hired to the respective academies, we offer support, mentorship, a place to study, ongoing support and promotional study programs. To become a firefighter, you must take a civil service exam, which is given every two years (next exam is March 21, 2020 – https://www.mass.gov/service-details/2020-municipal-firefighter-exam#open-houses).
For over thirty years we have offered recruitment services for candidates interested in becoming firefighters. We have also provided information from our sister organizations MAMLEO and the MMSPOA for those that are interested in becoming a Police Officer, State Trooper, or EMT. Working in a Public Safety Career is rewarding, the benefits are great and the service to the community is tremendous. We also provide contact to trade organizations for additional promising career opportunities.
